Kraken among top landing spots for Nazem Kadri
As the NHL season creeps ever closer, there are still plenty of great free agents available heading into August. Center Nazem Kadri headlines the list of remaining free agents along with John Klingberg, Patrice Bergeron, and Phil Kessel.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken would be an intriguing team for Kadri to sign with. They have already snatched up Andre Burakovsky, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Justin Schultz from the free agency pool, and Kadri would give the team quite the center core. Having Shane Wright, Matty Beniers, and Kadri round out your top-three forward lines would be great for years to come.
Detroit Red Wings
Detroit is another team that is looking up. The rebuild appears to be closing as they signed Ville Husso, Andrew Copp, David Perron, Ben Chiarot, Olli Maata, and Mark Pysyk this offseason. Signing Kadri would also give Detroit quite the top-nine, forming a 1-2-3 punch of Larkin, Kadri, and Copp.
New York Islanders
The Islanders had a terribly disappointing season in 2021-2022 after back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals trips. The team needs something, and maybe Kadri can put them back on track. There are still pieces there that have potential, but the team needs to make at least a couple more moves.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avs currently do not have the money to sign Kadri, but Kadri could take a discount to return to the 2022 Stanley Cup Champions. Maybe the reason why he is taking so long to sign is that he is waiting for Colorado to get some more cap space to have the money to sign him. Joe Sakic and Co. have proven that they will make money work if they want a specific player to play on their team.
