The New York Rangers announced on Friday that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with 2022 second-round pick (63rd overall), Adam Sykora.

Sykora, 17, spent the 2021-22 season in the Slovak Extraliga with HK Nitra. In 46 regular season games, Sykora put up seventeen points (ten goals, seven assists), six penalty minutes and was a plus-three. He then went on to add five points in nineteen playoff games.

Despite only being 17, the Piestany native represented Slovakia at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Finland alongside Juraj Slafkovsky (Montreal - 2022 first overall) and Simon Nemec (New Jersey - 2022 second overall). In six games with Slovakia, Sykora had three points as his nation finished eighth following a loss to eventual gold medalists, Finland, in the quarter-finals.

The speedy winger is very competitive and is strong defensively. It's unclear where Sykora may play next season, but he was selected first overall in the 2022 CHL Import Draft by the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.
