With teams for the 2022 Stanley Cup Final set on Saturday night, we now know who will be enforcing the rules for the matches as well. According to retired NHL ref Tim Peel, there will be a total of five different officials for the series.

"Congratulation to the Referees chosen to work the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals," said Peel on Twitter. "#5 Chris Rooney, #15 Jean Hebert, #19 Gord Dwyer, #4 Wes McCauley, #11 Kelly Sutherland."

All of these guys are veterans, with Hebert being the least experienced despite being in the NHL since 2010. Referees for the SCF are usually chosen based on merit; how the league feels you've been officiating games throughout the season and over the years.

Wes McCauley is likely the most well-known name on this list, although Dwyer and Sutherland are certainly up there. McCauley, at one point, seemed to be almost universally liked, especially with his habit of being very animated when it comes to making calls. That seems to have changed a bit over this season, though. That said, there's no way to make everyone happy with the choices, regardless of who gets picked. The linesmen for the series are also included below.

The first game of the SCF between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Colorado Avalanche takes place Wednesday, June 15th.
