During the '32 Thoughts' segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Chicago Blackhawks could make some big changes in the off-season.

Friedman said that the Blackhawks are testing the market on all their players, except Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Seth Jones, who have no-movement clauses.

"A team to watch over the next few weeks is going to be Chicago. They have three players with no-move clauses. Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Seth Jones, so don't count them because they're not on the market. But other than that, the Blackhawks are testing the market value of anyone that other teams want to ask about. They're willing to listen, they're willing to hear, as another GM said, it's like Brandon Hagel, can you make them an offer that makes them want to seriously think about it." Friedman said on Saturday night.

With Kane, Toews and Jones off the market, there are two names that could bring back fairly big returns for the Blackhawks. Those two are Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach. It's unlikely they part ways with Dach, who was the third overall pick in the 2019 draft, but as Friedman mentioned, if anyone makes an significant offer on him, they'll have to think about it.

One name that would be interesting to keep an eye on is 22-year-old Philipp Kurashev, who will be an RFA in July. In his second season with the Blackhawks, he put up 21 points (six goals, fifteen assists), along with twelve penalty minutes and was a minus-sixteen.

To a lesser extent, there will probably be some interest in former third overall pick Dylan Strome and possibly Dominik Kubalik. Both players are set to become restricted free agents next month.

With the 2022 draft just over a month away, the Blackhawks will more than likely look to add a first round pick after they dealt theirs away to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Seth Jones trade.
