27-year-old Canadian forward Mark Jankowski is reportedly getting set to play overseas in 2022-23. Sport-express.ru is reporting that the former 21st overall pick of the Calgary Flames in 2012 is negotiating a contract with Avangard Omsk of the KHL.

Jankowski has managed 272 regular season games in the NHL since his first one on 2016. After a few seasons with the Flames, Jankowski was not made a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent in 2020, making him free to sign anywhere. He landed a contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on the opening day of training camp in September. He played in 45 games for the team that season, putting up 11 points (4G, 7A). He got a professional tryout with the New Jersey Devils at the beginning of the 2021-22 training camps, but was cut by the team on the last day. He then agreed to a contract with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, which led to a contract with the Buffalo Sabres after 13 games. He ended up playing in 19 games with the main club, getting two goals and five points.

Jankowski is one of several NHLers reportedly leaving the league for others on Monday.
