City Councils Make Wagers in Battle of Alberta

Finally. We get to see the Battle of Alberta... in the Playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames will faceoff in a second-round series beginning tonight at 9:30pm EST.

The fans and players are not the only ones eager for the matchup. The city councils from each city have made a wager as well. Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek announced via Twitter the terms of the bet:

Gondek expressed her confidence, "I am confident that I will not be donning orange and blue at the June 7 council meeting and I am very much looking forward to seeing Mayor Amarjeet Sohi wearing the Flames C on his face."

Furthermore, members of the city council agreed to donate some of their own money to organizations that help children with cancer. This is to recognize youngster Ben Stelter. Stelter is a young 5-year-old Edmonton fan battling cancer. He has been the Oilers good luck charm this season and postseason.
