Pittsburgh Penguins' forward Jake Guentzel scored a second period power play goal in controversial fashion. Guentzel soccer kicks the puck into the air and then appears to hit it with a high-stick into the net. The play was originally called a goal. The officials reviewed the goal, which appeared to be a very, very close call, and deemed it to be a good goal.

It is important to note that the original call on the ice is paramount in these goal-review situations. In order to overturn a goal upon review, the officials need conclusive evidence that the puck entered the net illegally. Wow, it was a close one, indeed. Obviously, every single call matters in a decisive Game 7 situation.

After a Kaapo Kakko delay of game penalty, Evan Rodrigues scored the go-ahead goal on a powerplay breakaway minutes later:

With K'Andre Miller all over him, Rodrigues comes through with the supreme individual effort and buries it. Penguins pouring it on the Rangers & Igor Shesterkin is bailing them out like it's 2008 & they're a Wall Street Giant.
