The United States are off to a solid start at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship in Finland. They won their first game on Friday by a score of 4-1 against Latvia and then came from behind to beat Austria 3-2 in overtime on Sunday.

For both games, the United States has gone with Strauss Mann in between the pipes with Jon Gillies as the backup. Many fans have been curious where Alex Nedeljkovic has been, as he was named on the United States' roster for the tournament last week.

According to Chris Peters of DailyFaceoff, Nedeljkovic wasn't registered with the IIHF for the tournament as of Sunday morning due to a lower-body injury, and at the time was listed as day-to-day.

Nedeljkovic's status has changed less than twelve hours since Peters tweeted the update this morning. Just before puck drop between the Rangers and Penguins, ESPN insider Kevin Weekes said that Alex Nedeljkovic's injury will keep him out of the tournament.

"Some **Breaking News** 🚨 📰 @DetroitRedWings Goalie @alexned_ is out of the @IIHFHockey World Championships with @usahockey due to injury." Weekes said.

USA Hockey has yet to comment on Nedeljkovic's injury, nor have they named a replacement on the roster. We'll likely find out more information on Monday.
