All signs point to Pittsburgh Penguin's third-string goaltender Louis Domingue starting tonight for Game 2 against the New York Rangers. Domingue entered Game 1 halfway through 2OT period in Tuesday's thriller, after starting netminder Casey DeSmith exited with an apparent lower body injury. Domingue was perfect, saving 17 of 17 shots faced in just over one full period of work.

Penguins starting goaltender Tristan Jarry remains on the sidelines working his way back from a broken foot. We did not expect to see him for the first two games of this series. Making any appearance in this series would be considered ahead of schedule for this type of injury.

Penguins backup netminder and Game 1 starter DeSmith is currently listed as day to day with a lower body (groin) injury. He did not participate in optional skates since the end of Game 1.

Penguins 4th-string goaltender, Alex D'Orio will presumably serve as backup tonight. D'Orio has never seen NHL action. He has worked his way up through the ECHL and AHL in the past two seasons. This year in Pittburgh's AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton (baby) Penguins, he is posting a 7-10-5 record with a 2.91 GAA and .894 save percentage.

The Penguins will need to lock it down defensively if they have any hopes of going up 2-0 in the series tonight. To highlight their goaltending concerns even more, they will once again face the best goalie in the league this season at the other end for the New York Rangers - Igor Shesterkin.
