Reid Robertson, the New York Rangers' emergency back-up goaltender for last night's 3OT thriller, participated in the Pittsburgh Penguins' optional skate/ practice today at Madison Square Garden.

Penguins' goaltender Casey DeSmith exited yesterday's game halfway through the second overtime period with an apparent lower-body injury. He did not participate in the optional skate, continues to be evaluated, and is considered day-to-day.

Regular starting netminder Tristan Jarry also did not participate and is continuing his rehab from a broken foot from several weeks ago.

The Penguins called up AHL Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Penguins' goalie Alex D'Orio today, in the situation that DeSmith cannot suit up for tomorrow's Game 2 in New York.

Other injury notes:

Rickard Rakell is still being evaluated after being on the receiving end of a monstrous hit by Rangers' defenseman Ryan Lindgren. He is considered day-to-day.

Jason Zucker, who missed the Penguins' final regular season game last Friday against Columbus with a lower-body injury, participated in the optional skate this afternoon and wore a full contact jersey. He is listed as day-to-day as well.

Obviously, knowing head coach Sullivan's veteran reputation of being tight-lipped about injuries, especially in the playoffs, we will know more about who's in and who's out for tomorrow's Game 2 just before puck drop.
