Washington Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette issued a pair of updates on Wednesday regarding the status of John Carlson and Tom Wilson, who both left Game 1 on Tuesday night.

Carlson was hit in the head late in the third period by Panthers forward Sam Bennett. There was no penalty called on the play, and it doesn't appear that the NHL's Department of Player Safety will be reviewing the play.

Laviolette said that Carlson is fine and will be good to go on Thursday night for Game 2.

As for Tom Wilson, who scored the first goal of Game 1, he left the game early in the first period and did not return. Laviolette says that Wilson is getting treatment today for a lower-body injury and will be a game time decision on Thursday night.

Puck drop for Game 2 on Thursday night in Florida is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet360 in Canada and TBS in the United States.
