The Anaheim Ducks announced on Tuesday that they've agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with forward Sam Carrick. According to CapFriendly, Carrick's contract is worth $1.7 million ($850,000 AAV).

Carrick, 30, is having a bit of a breakout season in the National Hockey League after spending the majority of his career in the AHL. In 64 games this season, he's put up nineteen points (eleven goals, eight assists), 85 penalty minutes, and is a minus-twelve.

The Markham (Ontario) native was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in fifth round back in 2010 and spent four seasons in their system, playing nineteen games in the NHL during that time. He then signed with the Chicago Blackhawks in July 2016, before being traded to Anaheim on March 1st, 2017 and that's where he's been ever since. Carrick has also spent the last three seasons as the captain of Anaheim's AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls.
