The 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship is only a few weeks away and all sixteen participating countries are beginning to get their rosters together.

During Thursday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN, Darren Dreger revealed that Hockey Canada and USA Hockey have a ton of interest from players that want to play at the tournament in Finland next month. The reason why there may be more interest than usual is because players want to get their names on the radar of their country's federation for the 2024 World Cup of Hockey.

Some of the names that Hockey Canada is interested in having on their roster include Nick Suzuki and Josh Anderson of the Montreal Canadiens, Pierre-Luc Dubois of the Winnipeg Jets, Connor Brown, Thomas Chabot, and Drake Batherson of the Ottawa Senators.

As for USA Hockey, one name they have their eyes on is Montreal Canadiens rookie forward Cole Caufield, who's played significantly better since Hockey Hall of Famer Martin St. Louis was brought in as interim head coach.

"I do and it feels like the perfect time to resurrect the ''Dreger Cafe'' in Finland just given some of the names that could be in play. There is still some uncertainty because the NHL regular season hasn't wrapped up just yet, but if you look at the Montreal Canadiens, there's a strong chance you'll see Nick Suzuki, maybe Josh Anderson representing Team Canada. Cole Caufield representing Team USA. If you look at the Winnipeg Jets, Pierre-Luc Dubois has expressed some interest in playing for Team Canada and the Ottawa Senators have been perhaps the most vocal in acknowledging their interest – that's Thomas Chabot, Drake Batherson, Connor Brown and maybe maybe Matt Murray in goal. So, all being sorted out, but Team Canada, Team USA should be strong." Dreger said.

Canada will open their tournament on Friday, May 13th against Germany, while the United States will play their first game on the same day, against Latvia.
