Some sad news to report out of the hockey world. Garrett 'Rocky' Burnett, a former NHLer and a player/assistant coach with the infamous Danbury Trashers, has passed away at the young age of 46. At this time, the cause of his death is not known.

Burnett was an enforcer in every league he played in, which included the OHL, ECHL, AHL, and 39 games with the then Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the NHL in 2003-04. In those games with the Mighty Ducks, he received 184 PIM. Following that stint with the Ducks, he joined the Danbury Trashers of the now defunct United Hockey League (UHL) as a player and assistant coach.

Burnett ended his professional hockey career with the Saint-Jean Chiefs of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH) in Quebec, a league known for its toughness and fighting.

By all accounts, Burnett was a great person who was very kind. Our sincere condolences to family, friends and fans.
