The New York Rangers will be without one of their top bottom-six forwards for the foreseeable future. Recently acquired forward Tyler Motte will be out for a while with a "significant" injury after taking a high hit from Penguins forward Anthony Angelo during Thursday's 3-0 win.

One good sign is that it has been released that it was not a head injury, but rather just an upper-body injury. There is currently not a timetable for his return, but hopefully, he could be back at some point during the playoffs.

Tempers were flaring during the Rangers Penguins game, and the hit on Motte definitely did not help make matters any better. Multiple fights then broke out, including a massive one after the game had already ended.

Motte has 15 points ( 7 goals, 8 assists) in 58 games this season. He has never been much of a scorer in his career, but he has always been a key third or fourth liner no matter where he has played.
