Some tough news for the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, as it has been confirmed that Tyler Ennis will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season with an upper-body injury.

The injury occurred during the second period of a Sunday afternoon game versus the Detroit Red Wings. Ennis was forced to leave the game and did not return. The 32-year-old was able to sign a one-year deal with the Sens this season after impressing at training camp on a professional tryout offer, and made the most of his limited minutes with eight goals and 24 points in 57 games.

Early in his career, Ennis was seen as a budding star player and had a number of solid seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. However, injuries took away from what was once an extremely promising career. With that being said, he has still been able to log 700 NHL games, registering 144 goals and 346 points over that span. Whether or not we will see him back in the league for the 2022-23 season remains to be seen.
