Lost in the whirlwind that was the NHL's trade deadline was the news that the Arizona Coyotes have signed recently acquried prospect Jack McBain to his entry-level contract.

According to CapFriendly, the contract is for two years, but will begin immediately, meaning McBain will burn the first year of his contract now and become a restricted free agent following the 2022-23 season. The contract is worth $1.35 million ($883,750 AAV).

McBain, 22, had his rights traded from the Minnesota Wild to Arizona late on Sunday night in exchange for a second round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

The Toronto (Ontario) native just completed his fourth and final season at Boston College, where he put up 33 points (14 G, 19 A) in 24 games. McBain also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics in China, recording two points (one goal, one assist) in five games.
