The Vegas Golden Knights traded Evgenii Dadonov to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday during the NHL's Trade Deadline, but many people were probably wondering why there was such a long delay in the trade.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the delay in the processing of the trade was due to prior business. The NHL did not have Dadonov's original «no-trade list» on record. Apparently Anaheim was one of the teams on the no-trade list, but Vegas, Anaheim, and the NHL had no recognition of this. So, the trade was processed without any problems.

Dreger also added that the no-trade list wasn't even present during the original trade between the Ottawa Senators and Vegas Golden Knights, so it made it even more difficult to track the list.

Dadonov unfortunately will have to play in Anaheim nevertheless after being a cap casualty in Vegas. The forward has 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) in 60 games this season.
