A game between the Stony Plain Flyers and Strathcona Bruins on January 21st led to an incident in the stands and a member of the Flyers getting suspended. According to City News, Nicholas Johnson was suspended for eight games by the Capital Junior Hockey League in Alberta after he entered the stands to fight a fan.

Johnson's coach told City News that some people attending the game were getting rowdy. Some of the hockey moms were trying to get them to settle down. Johnson's mother was pushed by one of the fans and that's when the fight broke out. You can see two angles of it in the video below.

Getting into the stands to fight a fan will pretty much always lead to a suspension, but it's difficult to fault Johnson for defending his own mother. You can view the full report from City TV below.
