According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Philadelphia Flyers are making an addition to their coaching staff. They've hired former Minnesota Wild head coach John Torchetti.

"Hearing #Flyers, mired in franchise record 12-game winless streak, are adding John Torchetti to the coaching staff. Mike Yeo will remain #Flyers head coach through the remainder of the season," Seravalli said in a tweet.

It's interesting to note that back in the 2015-16 season, Torchetti took over the head coaching role from Mike Yeo, and remained as the team's interim head coach for the rest of the season.

Charlie O'Connor of The Athletic believes that with this hiring, being that it's one of Chuck Fletcher's "guys", that there won't be a change at the general manager position, at least not anytime soon.

"Reading the tea leaves here, Chuck Fletcher likely wouldn't be given the ability to hire one of "his guys" (and Torchetti absolutely is) if his job was in short-term danger. So that's something to keep in mind for those wondering if a GM change in Philly could be imminent," O'Connor said.

The Flyers will look to snap their 12-game losing streak on Tuesday night when they face the New York Islanders.
