This one didn't take long at all. After announcing Thursday that both the league and team were investigating an incident where veteran coach Vladimir Gromilin kicked 19-year-old Yegor Razumnyak during a game in Russia's MHL, the team has now announced he's been fired. The statement on the website of Sarmaty Orenburg was very brief, simply saying that the contract with Gromolin had been terminated and an assistant coach would be assuming his role. Gromilin had been coaching the team since 2019. Here's the video:

Gromilin, who has been in various coaching roles in Russia over the last 20 years, had apologized to the player. An official with the KHL, which the MHL is affiliated with, released a statement calling the incident unacceptable and said discipline could be coming after an investigation was completed.

Sarmaty Orenburg is in 13th place in the MHL Eastern Conference standings with 43 points in 44 games.
