Yesterday, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid missed practice due to a positive COVID-19 test. McDavid was then retested to make sure the result was correct and it appears that it was.

The Oilers announced on Wednesday morning that Connor McDavid, Derek Ryan and Tyson Barrie have been place on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.

But they won't be out of the lineup for too long. The Alberta government announced on Tuesday afternoon that they are following Ontario and Quebec when it comes to slashing isolation periods in half from ten days down to five for those who have two doses of a Health Canada approved vaccine.

Edmonton will look to snap their four-game losing streak on Wednesday night when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs. Puck drop is set for 7pm ET on Sportsnet.
