The Montreal Canadiens fell to the Ottawa Senators on Friday night by a score 7-2. It wasn't a good game right from the start, a handful of players looked disinterested including forward Ryan Poehling. Chris Wideman and Kaiden Guhle were solid all night for Montreal, and had to be after Sami Niku left the game with an upper-body injury following a hit from behind in the first period.

Following the game, the team announced a trio of cuts on their Twitter account. Jan Mysak, Lukas Vejdemo, and Alexandre Fortin have all been cut from the Canadiens' main camp.

Fortin and Vejdemo will join the the Laval Rocket for their training camp, although the latter will have to clear waivers first. As for Jan Mysak, he has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Ontario Hockey League

Montreal will be back in action on Saturday night at the Bell Centre to wrap up their home-and-home series with the Ottawa Senators. Puck drop will be at 7pm ET.
