Friedman reports Montreal working on deal after letting Kotkaniemi walk

It appears Montreal already had its replacement for Jesperi Kotkaniemi lined up. After letting the restricted free agent centre walk following an offer sheet from the Carolina Hurricanes, Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman reports the Canadiens are currently working on a deal to acquire fellow centre Christian Dvorak from the Arizona Coyotes.

According to Friedman, the deal will involve a first round pick, likely the one acquired from Carolina as compensation for Kotkaniemi, as well as another pick. Montreal also received a third round pick from Carolina.
