Playing in one of the largest hockey markets in the world certainly has its advantages - and for Auston Matthews, already one of the highest-profile players in the National Hockey League, it has paid off in the form of partnership with Cargojet.

Matthews joins other high-profile personalities such as recording artist Drake and former Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry as an Ambassador for the company.

Cargojet made the announcement on Friday morning via its official Instagram account, accompanied by the following statement:

"We are pleased to welcome Auston Matthews to the Cargojet family, as out newest Ambassador. We look forward to having him meet with our teams and our valued customers.

"Welcome to the Cargojet TEAM, Auston, we are excited to watch your incredible puck-handling skills in the 2021-22 NHL season!"

Matthews, 23, is the reigning Rocket Richard Trophy winner from the 2020-21 season after tallying an impressive 41 goals in 52 games.

It's been a massive year for Auston Matthews from a brand perspective, after the American sniper had already been named as the NHL 22 cover athlete earlier this summer.
