NHL players officially returning to the Olympics in 2022

The National Hockey League sent a memo to it's players to inform them that they have reached an agreement with the IIHF and IOC to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

"We have finalized the agreement providing for participation in the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing." The NHL's memo said.

- Each of the 12 nations participating will have to submit their "long list" of players by October 15th, and rosters will be announced in January 2022.

- Players will depart North America via Air China charter flights on February 6th.

- Contracts will be insured by either the IIHF and/or their nation's hockey federation.

- No insurance for COVID-related illnesses.

- Players will be drug tested by WADA starting October 15th.
