Five teams were linked to the Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand as the trade deadline approaches.

With his contract expiring at the end of the current season, Brad Marchand has been involved in plenty of trade rumors this season. He shed light on his opinion on the matter in a recent interview, saying it would feel weird to play for another team after spending his whole career in Boston.

Here's what he said:

«Obviously, it would be very weird. I think I would feel very weird, probably a little lost. But I don't know. I haven't really thought about it before. And I don't really think about it, because it's not something that I really see happening.»

«My goal is to play here forever. I love it here, and my family obviously loves it here. It's all I know. What I love most about it is the expectations that are put on the group-internally, just from management, ownership, from the team within. The expectation to be good every year is what you want to be part of.»

Another report confirmed that the Bruins are listening to offers, which is a sign that they haven't closed the door on that scenario just yet.

A source close to the Bruins opened up to Jimmy Murphy in an interview for RG.org:

"They'll take the break to get on the same page with him and see what he thinks and go from there.

The fact they're listening, though, means that if they can't find common ground over this break, it becomes more than listening when they return from break."

In the same paper, we learned that five teams could be interested in acquiring Marchand: the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, and Vegas Golden Knights:

"I honestly think it will be very situational. For instance, I keep hearing that Colorado is very interested in him. Well, they don't have a first-round pick this year. Of course, Sweeney could ask for a 2026 pick, or he and [Chris] MacFarland (Avalanche GM) can get creative.

Is Marchand, at this point, coming off of surgery and a strange season, even worth a first-round pick right now? I don't know. It's all about the team that wants him and the market the Bruins are able to build."

On top of the Avalanche, the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild, and Dallas Stars are all teams that have been mentioned to RG as interested parties in any potential Marchand trade.

Also, on Monday, a well-placed source confirmed that the Vegas Golden Knights will be another serious trade suitor for Marchand. The Knights are said to be awaiting word from Boston before engaging in any serious trade talks, but an answer is expected soon.

If the Bruins do decide to go down that path, they will certainly not be lacking suitors."

With Shea Theodore being evaluated week-to-week with an injury suffered in Canada's first game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Golden Knights could end up placing him on the LTIR and using the extra money to add Marchand to their roster.

However, at this point, nothing indicates that Marchand will be traded, and further updates on his situation will need to be released before making any assumptions about his future in Boston.
