Adam Johnson's tragic passing shocked the hockey world a year ago, and now we need to wait even longer to hear the results of the investigation.

Over a year ago, former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson tragically lost his life while playing for the Nottingham Panthers in the UK in circumstances that shocked the entire hockey world, forcing several gear rules to be enforced throughout the world. The player who made this tragic event happen has since been charged with manslaughter, but unfortunately, the Johnson family will now need to wait even longer to get a resolution to the case involving the former NHLer.

According to the South Yorkshire Police, Matt Petgrave, the player involved in this tragedy has had his bail extended until January of 2025, meaning that no resolution will be found until next year at the earliest, with the Police making this statement.

"We have been working meticulously to fully understand the unprecedented circumstances in which Adam sadly lost his life.

"This complex investigation into Adam's death remains ongoing and we are continuing to work closely with the Crown Prosecution Service.

"Our thoughts remain wholeheartedly with Adam's family at this time."

To extend bail beyond 12 months is a major shock, and according to those close to the situation, it must be 'granted by a magistrate on the grounds that it is an exceptionally complex case.

For terrible reasons, the event's of October 23rd 2023 will live in the memory for a long time given the tragic circumstances in the Elite Ice Hockey League, and it's one that we never hope to see again. While answers have been delayed once more, we hope that in the very near future, Johnson's family can get the outcome they desire and finally end their year of suffering.
