The Tampa Bay Lightning made some big moves this summer, and now it appears their General Manager is targeting another big move during the season.

After a stellar career in Tampa Bay, the Lightning moved on from Steven Stamkos this summer, and in his place they found Jake Guentzel, but it appears the team aren't done making blockbuster moves. After a solid 3-1-0 start to the season, the team clearly have visions of returning to the Stanley Cup Finals once more under new captain Victor Hedman, and it appears that they won't sit on their hands and wait for that to happen.

According to a report, General Manager Julien Brisebois is in attendance for the Winnipeg Jets-Pittsburgh Penguins clash on Sunday, clearly eyeing a specific set of players as potential trade deadline acquisitions this season.

In the post from Winnipeg Jets writer Jacob Stoller, he doesn't reveal (if he even knows, which is unlikely) which players the Lightning GM is targeting, but with many veterans on both sides, there are plenty of candidates among the game. With the Penguins struggling for consistency early in the 2024/25 season, it's safe to assume that the likes of Michael Bunting, Rickard Rackell and other forwards may be in the mix, but given how early it is in the season, Brisebois is probably looking to get a broad look at many players on both sides.

This is a new look Tampa Bay Lightning team from what we've seen in recent years, but with most of the core still in tact, they believe they can be a Stanley Cup Playoff team, so now we will see what moves this team can make to turn them from a playoff squad into a genuine Stanley Cup threat.
