An arena in Philadelphia is honoring Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau by renaming an arena in their honor that they used to play on when they were youths.

While the hockey world is still trying to come to grips with the tragic loss of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, there is some heartwarming effort to keep their memories alive. Though they may be gone, people are doing all they can to make sure their memory lives on.
This past weekend, a more touching tribute unfolded at the Hollydell Ice Arena, host of a North American Hockey League game featuring the Philadelphia Rebels against the Northeast Generals. But the central moment of the night was a poignant tribute to Johnny and Matthew.
The Gaudreau family was visibly emotional as they took to the ice in jerseys honoring the boys. One of their sisters briefly spoke, voicing deep appreciation for continued support during such an awful time.
It was a touching and permanent tribute to the boys when it was announced that the Futures Rink at Hollydell Ice Arena would be renamed "The Gaudreau Rink" in memory of Johnny and Matthew. This wasn't just any rink, but rather the same ice on which, under the watchful eyes of their dad Guy, the brothers spent their childhoods falling in love with the game.
For those closest to the Gaudreau brothers, a rink was undeniably a solemn part of their lives, and it has now also become a point of focus for remembrance and tribute in the wake of their tragic deaths.
