In a recent interview, Utah Hockey Club forward Clayton Keller may have revealed what the new team name is going to be: The Utah Yeti.

Much speculation had surrounded the name of the NHL team coming from the Utah Hockey Club, but not anymore. It appears that forward Clayton Keller may have let the beans spill, though. During last week's NHL North American Players Media Tour, Keller popped something out about the mystery team name.
"It sounds like it's going to be the Yeti, but I don't know," said Keller as per NHL.com. "We'll see what happens. Whatever they choose, I think it'll be a good one."

One of the more popular guesses making the rounds online has been "Yeti," and Keller's comment did nothing to douse that flame. The second most thought-name suggestion has been "Blizzard," though it hasn't quite reached that level of chatter.
The fans are going to have to be a little more patient before any type of confirmation. It seems that Utah HC has decided not to come up with a team name in their inaugural season, perhaps because of the short window between the time they acquired the former Arizona Coyotes and started preparing for the NHL season. The team probably wants to make sure it nails down its branding well before making the big announcement.
Of course, the cynic would say this is a chance for the club to move two sets of jerseys, one for the inaugural season sans team name, and another for year two with the official name.
So, does that mean we can expect to see the Yeti in year two, as Clayton Keller teased? Or will Utah go in a completely different direction? Only time will tell.
