Bruins Brad Marchand has made some comments regarding Jeremy Swayman's contract situation that has really made fans feel uncomfortable.

The Boston Bruins are starting to get a little antsy as the ongoing contract talks with Jeremy Swayman continue to drag along. It didn't help that head coach Jim Montgomery avoided the subject altogether during the team's charity golf event Thursday.
«I'm not going to get into the contract situation. It's not my area of expertise. It's Don's,» Montgomery said, referring to general manager Don Sweeney.

Meanwhile, General Manager Don Sweeney is not exactly getting much accomplished either. Early in the month, Spittin' Chiclets' Ryan Whitney chimed in with the reveal of the Bruins offer to the restricted free agent. There have been rumors across the board, including reports of Swayman seeking $10 million AAV, while NHL insider Frank Seravalli has recently reported that the netminder perhaps seeks $8 million AAV. Boston's current offer sits at around $6 million.
On Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman reaffirmed that there is still a big divide in the negotiations.
With Linus Ullmark having been dealt to the Ottawa Senators this summer, the Bruins are counting on Jeremy Swayman to take a leap and handle more meaningful action in the crease. Last season, he logged an excellent .916 save percentage in 44 games and finished fifth in the league in goals saved above expected. However, if this impasse remains unresolved, Boston may need to open the season without him.
Asked about it at the end of the golf tournament, Bruins captain Brad Marchand briefly addressed the situation, but details remain few and far between.
«It's a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group. But that's obviously out of our hands and we don't get involved in any of that. So it'll be great when everything gets kind of squared away.»
