It was announced today that the Edmonton Oilers have traded Cody Ceci to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Ty Emberson.

Following the acquisition of Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks earlier tonight, the Edmonton Oilers have now traded defenseman Cody Ceci and a third round pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for young promising defenseman Ty Emberson.
Ty Emberson recently signed an extension with the San Jose Sharks worth $1 million annually, and will fit will in the Edmonton Oilers lineup.
Following the offer sheets to Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg, the Oilers have now cleared $3.25 million in cap space with this trade of Cody Ceci.
Now that they have filled the roles of Holloway and Broberg, it is unknown what decision they will make on the offer sheets. The St. Louis blues believed that they could have screwed over the Edmonton Oilers, but they have now done the necessary moves to get out of their tricky situation. Genius work from their new GM Stan Bowman.
It is certainly a busy day in Edmonton.
