Matt Rempe is part of the new era of NHL enforcers and grinders, and he has now moved in with New York Rangers veteran Jonathan Quick.

The New York Rangers are lucky to have one of the next budding stars on the physical side of hockey. The 6-foot-8, 240 pound winger (per EliteProspects) is among the most notably penalty-takers and fighters in the league, having a whopping 71 minutes in the box in his 17 NHL rookie games.
The 2020 6th round draft pick has fought Mathieu Oilivier, Nicolas Deslauriers, Arber Xhekaj, and even Ryan Reaves as a rookie, and has even been training with the great Georges Laraque this off-season!
He has now revealed in a new interview that he has moved in with future hall-of-famer Jonathan Quick this summer, and has been training with former 50-goal scorer Chris Kreider. Jonathan Quick won two Stanley Cups as the LA Kings' starter in 2012 and 2014, and won in 2023 as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights. He is now entering his second season with his hometown New York Rangers as the backup to the great Igor Shesterkin.
The amazing characters surrounding Matt Rempe suggest he may have a big season ahead - he has a clear role in the NHL, but if he can round out his game he can become somebody who can play 82 games, and potentially contribute offensively and defensively. Being under the wing of one of the greatest goalies of our generation is a pretty great place to be.
Matt Rempe and the New York Rangers are trying to bring the Stanley Cup back to Manhattan for the first time in over two decades, and the culture in their locker room is obvious. Whether or not they can pull it off, however, is unknown.
