Kris Letang has been a featured part of the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup for the last 18-years, but now the veteran star reportedly wants out.

Since the early 2000's, the Pittsburgh Penguins have found tremendous success under their three superstars of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kristopher Letang, but now it may all be coming to an end. Malkin reportedly wants out after this season, Crosby is yet to sign an extension and now, a report has emerged that has revealed the veteran defenseman Letang has officially requested a trade.

The report comes from Penguins reporter Mark Madden, who has revealed that Letang went to the Penguins front office and officially requested a trade to his home town Montreal Canadiens.

However, after paying Kaiden Guhle and several other young names, it appears the team didn't want to bring in a player earning $6.1 million per season over the next four years, and now it appears as though discussions are officially done. At 37-years of age, the Pittsburgh defenseman is likely to remain with the team for the rest of his career after posting an amazing 166 goals and 742 points over 1,087 games played, but with the future of the big three in question, no one quite knows how things will pan out with Letang and this group.
