Evgeny Kuznetsov's future has been up in the air, but now the veteran's next team has been confirmed, and it's a surprising financial move.

Following an up and down season in the NHL, veteran center Evgeny Kuznetsov has been linked to a move to the KHL, and now it has officially been confirmed.
It's never a surprise when players from Europe return to the KHL at the end of their NHL careers, but what makes this move a surprise is the pay cut he's taken to do so, as he has gone from earning almost $16 million down to just $2 million over the same period of time.
"SKA will make a very nice move, which is sometimes practiced in the NHL - for example, Sidney Crosby signed a contract with an average salary of $8.7 million per year in honor of the fact that he plays under number 87. Evgeny Kuznetsov will receive a four-year contract in St. Petersburg, the average salary of which will be 92 million rubles."
Despite that, he's gone through with the move, and as you can see on social media, the signing is already being hyped up by SKA St. Petersburg and the KHL themselves, as he is a huge name to return to the league. At 36-years of age, it's unclear if we'll see him back in the NHL one day, but at this point, he's doing things on his terms, and it's hard to fault a veteran that's done it all in the NHL for doing exactly that.
