Following his deal with the Nashville Predators, former Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe winner Jonathan Marchessault buried the Vegas Golden Knights in his latest media comments.

Jonathan Marchessault is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with on the ice. Shortly after winning the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights, he had the honor of holding up the Conn Smythe Trophy he was awarded in 2023.

"The Conn Smythe Trophy winner is officially recognized on the trophy. @GoldenKnights and #stanleycup champion Jonathan Marchessault is etched forever. @NHL @HockeyHallFame"

Yet, he proved not valuable enough to Vegas for the upcoming season. After hitting free agency, Marchessault was one of several big names the Nashville Predators picked up, along with star forward and former Tampa Bay Lightning teammate Steven Stamkos and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brady Skjei.

"Breaking: The Predators are adding star forward Steven Stamkos, former Conn Smythe winner Jonathan Marchessault and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brady Skjei."

While some may just be happy to get a new contract in the top hockey league in the world, Marchessault had some ire for his former team. In an interview with TSN, the former Golden Knight buried Vegas for their apparent lack of effort to keep him on the roster.

"I don't think they tried their best to keep me."

Jonathan Marchessault is one of several big-name players to leave Vegas. Unsurprisingly, Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon had to assuage fans' fears that the team was tanking by stating his knowledge of the team was better than theirs.

"'Fans think they know our players. I know our players better.'

After a surge of Golden Knights offseason departures, GM Kelly McCrimmon closes his presser with this statement.

"Part of the reason we won the Stanley Cup is we had so many players outperform their contract.'"

With more than one clear asset departing the team, it is hard to trust that McCrimmon has the best strategy and intentions with the Vegas Golden Knights. However, Nashville fans can rest assured that Jonathan Marchessault will do what he can for the team for the foreseeable future.
