The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a unique spot this off-season, likely allowing new head coach Craig Berube make some roster decisions, including on Noah Gregor.

Noah Gregor signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs last year as a free agent, but due to his age would be eligible to be qualified by the team. Unfortunately, with Easton Cowan in the pipeline, it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs have decided to let Noah Gregor walk to free agency.

With the emergence of Cowan next season combined with Gregor's declining production and role in the second half of the season (one goal in his last 35 games), it feels unlikely the Leafs extend a qualifying offer. He was known to be a good teammate in Toronto and his speed and attitude alone should help him catch on with another NHL team easily enough next season.

Noah Gregor only had 12 points in 63 games as a Toronto Maple Leafs player, but fans loved him for his highlight reel goals and non-stop intensity.

Easton Cowan was the Toronto Maple Leafs' first-round pick at the 2023 NHL draft, and he will likely push for a roster spot next year, bringing the same energy as Gregor but with much more skill and upside. We will see how the team goes under new head coach Craig Berube versus now New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe.
