A new report coming out of Sweden has confirmed that a player from one of their junior leagues has been charged and found guilty of brutally injuring an opposing player.<br /><br />This incident took place all the way back in January of 2022 during a high level junior tournament in Sweden. One player named Kid Andersson was on his team's bench and squirted water at his opponent. The original trial did not yield the results the Andersson family was hoping for. The player who swung the stick was found not guilty. However, after an appeal a guilty verdict was reached and now the player has been punished.<br /><br /><q>The Svea Court of Appeal sentences the player for assault and the penalty is a suspended sentence with 140 hours of community service.<br /><br />The convicted player must also pay damages of SEK 92,498 to Kid Andersson.</q><br /><br />With a suspended sentence the player will likely not face any jail time but will now need to do community service. He also will pay a fine that is equivalent to $8,765 U.S. dollars.
