Calgary Flames GM Craig Conroy has reportedly made a significant offer for Habs defenseman Arber Xhekaj.

Arber Xhekaj has most definitely one of the most inspiring stories in the NHL after being signed by the Montreal Canadiens after going undrafted in three drafts. The defenseman has been a crucial piece to the Canadiens and GM Kent Hughes has insisted he has no intent on moving the Ontario native despite the numerous interest.

It was reported that the Calgary Flames sent a significant offer for Arber Xhekaj however the Canadiens decided to go against it and not trade him to the pacific Flames.

The Calgary Flames seem like a great match for Xhekaj as they play an old-school style game and are always looking to add more size to their backend. However, the Canadiens do not seem to be budging on Xhekaj and will likely need to be wowed to consider moving him.

Barring an immense overpay from another team, the Canadiens intend on keeping him in hopes of him one day becoming a huge piece to the blueline when they finally reach the goal of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
