The controversial former NHLer Alex Galchenyuk has hit rock bottom and got kicked out from his KHL team.

Following a promising start in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens, the 3rd official pick in 2012 was forced to sign in Russia to pursue his hockey career.

After short stints accross the NHL for teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avlanche, he had to exile from North America after being arrested for multiple charges in 2022.

While celebrating his new deal with the Coyotes with his dad, Galchenyuk faced multiple accusations, being charged for private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating.

Last summer, a few weeks after his arrestation, he signed a one-year deal with the SKA. He has now officially hit rock bottom, as the team decided to get rid of him.

According to Andrew Zadarnowski, he already signed a new deal with Amur Khabarovsk, in the far east side of Russia:

"Alex Galchenyuk, who signed a two-year deal with SKA of the KHL in August 2023, has been released from his deal.

He then signed a one-year contract with Amur Khabarovsk in the far east side of Russia."

In 61 games with the SKA this season, he scored 42 points, including 16 goals, and five points in nine playoff games.
