Plenty has gone wrong for the Maple Leafs in their first round series against the Boston Bruins, and it's very hard to look past Auston Matthews' health issues.

Auston Matthews started this first-round series against the Boston Bruins with a bang, contributing to all three goals in the 3-2 victory in game two, but since that point, he's been less effective. This is reportedly due to the illness he's suffering from, and after being pulled late in the game four loss, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe had this update, via reporter David Alter.

Sheldon Keefe re: Auston Matthews' health: Not much update there. Luckily, again, we've got a couple of days here and we thought the last couple of days would help us. It's whatever reason, it's not one of those run-of-the-mill, everyday- type of illnesses that sort of come and go. It's lingered. The effects have lingered and it's gotten worse every time he gets out on the ice asserting himself. We've just got to manage that and give him the time that he needs.

Unfortunately, it appears as though things aren't getting better in a hurry for Matthews, and with game five in Boston set to take place on Tuesday, he's got a limited time to get better.

With all the drama on the bench in the loss that saw Toronto fall 3-1, they've got plenty of issues to work out, but with a talented forward group, if they can get Matthews feeling close to 100%, they aren't out of this series yet.
