Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery makes a major last-minute change to his lineup ahead of game two against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With his team taking a 1-0 lead into game two of their first round NHL 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, head coach Jim Montgomery has pulled the trigger on a major change to his lineup. Despite a great performance in the first game, goaltender Jeremy Swayman will be on the bench for game two as Linus Ullmark takes over between the pipes.

"Linus Ullmark getting the start for Game 2. I would have started Jeremy Swayman after his brilliance in Game 1 and given his general mastery of the Maple Leafs this season. Bruins opening themselves up for a lot of second guessing if it doesn't work out tonight."

It's an interesting decision to sit a goaltender in the playoffs who stopped 35 of 36 shots for a .972 save percentage in his last game. However, it's always been very much a partnership between Swayman and Ullmark, who appear to be the best of friends.

Meanwhile, William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs will miss his second straight playoffs game.

"William Nylander not taking warmups ahead of Game 2. He'll miss a second consecutive outing.

And, as we all suspected, Linus Ullmark gets the call in net for Boston."
