The NHL Player Safety Department confirmed Max Domi's fate after a dirty play on Boston's Charlie McAvoy in game one of Leafs Vs. Bruins.

It's safe to say that Max Domi understood his role going into the first game of the playoffs. All night long, he played a physical game, and did all he could to get under his opponents' skins.

It started even before puck drop, as he got into it with Brad Marchand:

Later in the game, he did another controversial gesture. He punched the Bruins' top defenseman, Charlie McAvoy, on the back of the head.

If you missed it, watch the scene in the video below:

This is something the NHL doesn't want to see, and people were waiting to see if the Department of Player Safety would act on.

However, yesterday, we learned that they decided to not take any action on Domi.

"Because 5pm has come and gone, #LeafsForever Max Domi will not face supplementary discipline from the @NHLPlayerSafety for this play!"

This caused quite a fuss in the Bruins' fanbase:

"If Brad Marchand did to anyone on the Leafs what Max Domi did to Charlie McAvoy, he'd be suspended for the entirety of round 1 by the way"

McAvoy is one of the best players in Boston, and it looks clear that Domi targeted him and the other stars all night long.

We'll see on Monday night how the Bruins retaliate on Domi.
