Ahead of their last game representing Arizona against the Edmonton Oilers, the Coyotes have forced tailgating fans away from their arena.

The Coyotes have struggled to find a new home for a while. Ryan Smith has now officially purchased the team, which will move to Salt Lake City, Utah ahead of the next season.

"BREAKING: John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports is reporting that the sale of the Arizona Coyotes to Ryan Smith is completed.

It will be subject to the Board of Governor's approval tomorrow to finalize the deal."

With the sale completed and finalization impending, the Coyotes have prepared to play their last team representing Arizona. To honor their time in the state, the team has prepared for one final whiteout, leaving white shirts for all their fans.

"The stage is set for the Coyotes last game in Arizona.

The team has left white shirts on every seat for fans."

However, this goodwill gesture was quickly tarnished after the team pushed away fans from the arena who were participating in tailgate parties ahead of the game.

"The #Coyotes let their fans down, one more time.

For the culture."

What could have been a worthy last chance for Arizona Coyotes supporters to remember the team fondly became one last nail in the coffin for the team's popularity. With the puck drop only a short time away, former fans are now saying 'good riddance.'

"Y'all really had to shutdown the fan party outside the arena pathetic"

"Way to treat your fans. You poverty franchise
Good riddance"

Though it is too late for this franchise to earn back the adoration of its fans, hopefully, other teams will take the lesson in stride.
