On Saturday night, the New York Rangers teased their fans on Twitter with a picture of highly-touted prospect Vitali Kravtsov, with a caption saying "Because we're just full of good news today... See you soon, Kravy."

Kravtsov, 21, signed his entry-level contract with the Rangers in May 2019. The Vladivostok, Russia native had a poor showing at his first training camp in New York, and didn't look that great in pre-season games. He started the 2019-20 season in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack, but revealed that he was unhappy, and decided to return to his old KHL club, Traktor Chelyabinsk on loan. After things didn't work out with Traktor, Kravtsov returned to Hartford with the promise to give it his all, and work hard in every practice and game. He finished the season with 15 points (6 G, 9 A), 4 penalty minutes, and was a -4 in 39 games with Hartford.

The Rangers loaned him back to Traktor Chelyabinsk for the entire 2020-21 KHL season. In 49 regular season games, Kravtsov tallied 24 points (16 G, 8 A), 12 penalty minutes, and was a +8. Traktor was eliminated by Salavat Yulaev in the first round of the playoffs. In 5 games, the 21-year old had 4 points (2 G, 2 A), 0 penalty minutes, and was a -2.

Kravtsov is expected to arrive in New York on Sunday, and will have to follow the NHL's quarantine and COVID-19 protocols before he can join the team.
