With roughly four weeks until the National Hockey League's trade deadline, one of the more interesting players that is reportedly available for trade is 23-year old Troy Terry of the Anaheim Ducks.

"One young player who might be up for a change of scenery is Troy Terry in Anaheim," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said during Saturday's Headlines on March 13th. "I'm starting to hear some conversation about him and whether or not he might go somewhere else to get a change from the Ducks."

The Denver, Colorado native was drafted in the fifth round, 148th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He's played parts of four seasons with the Ducks since leaving the University of Denver in 2018. In 102 career games, Terry has 35 points (12 G, 23 A), 16 penalty minutes, and is a +3.

In his final year at the University of Denver at the age of 20, Terry was selected to represent the United States at the 2019 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. In 5 games, he tallied 5 points (5 A), 4 penalty minutes, and was a +2 as the United States finished seventh following a loss to the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals.

Terry re-signed with the Ducks in July 2020, and is in the first year of a three-year contract worth $4.35 million. He will earn $1.45 million in 2021-22, and $1.55 million in 2022-23.

The price is expected to be high, but it's almost certain many teams will be calling Ducks general manager Bob Murray regarding Terry. He's only 23 years old, and on a team-friendly contract. It's not often that a player that young with a ton of potential, like Terry, is available for trade.
