It appears as though Scott Sabourin's 23-second chaos bender in his Toronto Marlies debut resulted in more than just 17 minutes worth of penalties and a game misconduct, as the 28-year-old also received a call-up by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Sabourin, who laced up the skates for his first actual game in 366 days on Friday, was listed as a starter for the Marlies against the visiting Laval Rockets and lasted just 23 seconds into the first period before being ejected from the game for running over young netminder Cayden Primeau and subsequently tossing his gloves off and delivering a series of unanswered bombs to forward Lukas Vejdemo, who wanted nothing to do with dropping the gloves with Sabourin. Sabourin was recalled to the Leafs' taxi squad on Saturday, with the possibility of playing in Sunday's game against his former team, the Ottawa Senators.

Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe would not confirm whether or not Sabourin would draw into his lineup against his former club, but with a steady rotation of depth wingers playing minutes on Toronto's fourth line this season, it is certainly wouldn't be surprising to see Sabourin make his season debut on Sunday evening in the second half of a back-to-back.

Sabourin signed a 1-year, two-way deal with the Maple Leafs on February 7th and has yet to see NHL action in 28 games in blue and white, despite spending most of the season on the taxi squad.
