The Vegas Golden Knights were dealt a tough blow this afternoon as goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has been added to the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol List.

This is unfortunate news for the Golden Knights, as they are already without Robin Lehner who has been on the injured reserve since February 7 with what the team is calling an upper-body injury. It is also unfortunate for Fleury himself, who has been having a Vezina Trophy like season to this point. In 17 games this year, the 36-year-old has a sparking 1.73 goals against average along with a .938 save percentage.

The one thing to remember is that just because Fleury was put on this list does not mean he has the virus himself. This could have resulted from many different things, such as being in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID themselves. Hopefully this is a short-term situation and Fleury can return to the crease soon. However, at the very least, he will likely be absent for tomorrow night's game versus the St. Louis Blues.
