The Chicago Blackhawks have signed the prospect Nick Lardis to play alongside Connor Bedard.

Lardis, was drafted 67th overall in 2023 by the Blackhawks and spent the last two seasons in the OHL, with the Brantford Bulldogs.

It was just announced that he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the team:

Injuries forced him to be sidelined many times this season, but he managed to score 50 points in 37 games. In the two seasons he spent with the Bulldogs, he scored 96 points in 70 games.

Last year, he won the bronze medal with Team Canada at the 2023 IIHF U18 WC, where he had a great impact by scoring four goals in seven games.

Considering that the Blackhawks are deep into their rebuilding, invinting him to the training camp and giving him a place on the roster to start the season could be a smart move, if he earns it, of course.

Lardis might have been shadowed by Connor Bedard and Oliver Moore at the last draft, but he could turn out to be a standout player and a possible home run for the Blackhawks.

More to come.
